Full Moon in Taurus - Sensual delights
Column for Saturday 5th November - Friday, 11th November

There is a feeling of harmony on Saturday, 5th November, as the Sun in Scorpio trines the Moon in Pisces. It is a lovely time for bonfire night, as emotions can flow freely, making social occasions warm and friendly; much appreciation can be felt for colourful and imaginative firework spectacles. Drink is likely to flow freely too; there could be quite a few hangovers on Sunday.
On Sunday evening the Moon moves into Aries, and joins Uranus at 9.15pm. Ironically this could be another good time for fireworks, maybe not of the physical kind. It is symbolic of something surprising and unexpected to happen, particularly on an emotional level.
After a potentially tense vibe early on Monday morning, there is an easy flow between the mind and heart for the rest of the morning. Logic and intuition combine to produce solutions to challenges. However, underlying this is an aspect which has been building for the last ten days or so. Mars opposes Neptune today, and for some, this may produce feelings of weakness, over-sensitivity, procrastination or a general lack of energy. It will pass. Mars is the planet of desire, of action and getting things done; Neptune is the planet of nebulousness, the mystical, and the imagination.
When these two work positively together, it can be a great time to follow dreams, harness creativity to produce something totally original, and also to these things with the highest compassion for others.
The opposition is symbolic of a see-saw, suggesting that either Mars or Neptune will dominate, and then the flow will be back to the other planet, so that you may swing between wanting to do something, but then day-dreaming rather than fulfilling the plan. It could be that the plan needs to be refined, and it could be that re-considering something actually leads to something better further down the line.
On Tuesday 8th, the only aspect is an opposition between the Moon and Saturn, signifying a bit of a tug between domestic and work matters. Again, one thing may have to temporarily take precedence over another.
Although the full moon takes place on Thursday 10th November, at 20.16 GMT, the scene is set on Wednesday when the Moon moves into the fixed, earth sign of Taurus.
From 28th October to 23rd November, Mars, Jupiter and Pluto are linking up at different times in this period, to form a grand trine (this is when three planets have harmonious links with each other), making this an auspicious time for new projects and business. As the Mars/Neptune opposition fades, this trio will come to the fore, enabling new ideas to get off the ground. A considerable amount of positive energy is available to be used in wise ways. Although the Sun and Moon are not involved with this trio, I feel this grand trine will colour the time around the full moon.
Taurus is the most practical of signs; Scorpio likes the deeper side of life. This could be a very sensual full moon, as both signs enjoy many delights life has to offer. Delicious food, lovely surroundings, comfort, and good companions can make this a very enjoyable full moon.
The slow moving planet Neptune begins to move forwards again, after being retrograde since June 3rd. It may be easier to move forwards with dreams, and to clarify relationships that have seemed unclear.
Friday 11 November has to be a special day (11.11.11). It is Armistice Day, so much remembrance for those who have given their lives in wars. The Moon squares Mars and Neptune today; emotions will be running very deeply.
There is also a Mercurial feel to Friday, as Mars moves into Virgo (4.15 GMT), and the Moon into Gemini (20.10 GMT). The flamboyance of Mars in Leo settles down to wanting to take action in practical, efficient ways, with the satisfaction of a deed well done taking precedence over any reward that may be forthcoming.
Mars is in Virgo for the long haul, as it turns retrograde on January 24th 2012, direct again on April 14th, and finally leaves Virgo on July 3rd 2012. Usually, Mars is in a sign for around 6 weeks! It will be interesting to see how this pans out for Virgos.
