Full Moon in Scorpio - Growth and Transition

Second Half of May 2011

Following the initiating energy that emanated from many planets in Aries, comes the fertile, purposeful energy of Taurus. Mercury,Venus and Mars are all now in this earthy, sensuous sign, moving us forward with any ideas that began when they were all in Aries. It is time to see which seeds have sprouted, while enjoying the delights life has to offer, especially in the realm of love, nature, and nurturing the body.

Proverbial new shoots need to be watered, and turned towards the light, so they can grow sturdily, with the promise of fruit and flower to look forward to. This can apply to gardening (the sign associated with Taurus), but also to anything in your life: attitudes, thoughts, emotions, general perspective, etc. Choose to focus on the positive, and watch smile-giving moments unfold.

The Scorpio full moon provides a window to change on a deep, emotional level, although reminders to do this may be needed, conscious practice which will seep through into the unconscious, and shift something important. Taurus and Scorpio are both fixed signs, so feel more in their comfort zone when life feels stable.

An example could be deciding to clear out a cluttered, unloved corner of a room, or a neglected part of the garden, and then make it beautiful. By doing this you are also clearing out some part of your self that may be feeling neglected or unloved, and making way for something better.

Venus and Mars dance together in Taurus until the end of the first week in June (conjunct on Monday 23rd May), making this a really opportune time to enjoy all the sensuous delights life has to offer. It is excellent for all kinds of artistic, musical and horticultural activities, and relationships. It is also a good time to see how the feminine and masculine energies are balanced within you. The 20th and 21st May see transformational Pluto connecting harmoniously with Mars, Mercury and Venus in turn, so that niggling issues of April can now be looked at with much more equanimity, and changed in a positive way.

Until 21st May, the Sun is in Taurus too, encouraging steady growth and perseverance in endeavours. Gemini then takes centre stage, lightening the vibe, searching for variety, new people, experiences and places. Other possibilities may emerge, and new seeds planted, in time for the next new moon, in Gemini, on 1st June.
