New Moon in Scorpio - Positive Relationships

6th - 12th November 2010

When a new lunar cycle begins, it's a chance to notice any inner shifts you may be feeling, and to see how you can move forward with new ideas, hunches, or 'ah-ha' moments. This is particularly so for those born in Scorpio, and even more so for those born on 6th November. Scorpio is a sign that works best when it follows its true feelings; if it feels right go with it, if it doesn't hold back a while.

Connections from this new moon to the asteroids Vesta and Juno signify relationships coming under the spotlight. Issues linked to these and the work/home balance are highlighted; also opportunities to define what kind of emotional relationship with a certain special person you'd like. Some of you may have just had enough, and would like to go and live in a cave like a hermit; others may decide compromise and give and take are worthwhile donations to make in exchange for love, warmth and companionship.

It could all feel quite deep but memorable, whatever the outcome.

There's a welcome influx of energy from the fire sign Sagittarius to add dash and sparkle, with the Moon entering there on Sunday morning (until Tuesday lunch-time), Mercury on Monday, 8th November, both joining Mars, which moved into Sag on the 28th October. Mercury, planet of communication, and Mars, planet of action and desire, are in Sagittarius for the rest of November, making feistiness and quick repartee a part of many a conversation or debate. People may show less patience when travelling, so stay detached from those displaying grumpiness on the roads, buses and trains, and try smiling at them instead of getting bound up with their negativity.

Slow moving Neptune turns direct on Sunday 7th, not noticeable for most of us; on a very subtle level, moves can now be made to put dreams beyond the 'pie in the sky' stage. Crossed lines, and unclear or even deceitful messages have been in the airwaves over the last few days (Mercury squares Neptune on Saturday, 6th November). Now the fog should begin to clear, and the true meaning behind any misunderstanding emerge.

Venus, planet of love and finances, moves in retrograde fashion, back into Libra on Monday, 8th, and stays in this sign until 30th November (it turns direct on 18th November). Seeking balance in relationships comes to the fore, emphasizing the partnership issues mentioned before, connected to the new moon. Venus retrograde is an opportune time to really look at any relationship (love, business, etc.), and sometimes to return literally to an old flame, where something unfinished needs to be resolved.

It's also a great time to look at your resources – not just how much money you earn, what kind of palace or shed you live in, but what qualities are your best assets (kindness, a good listening ear, a positive attitude) and how do you like sharing your gifts?

See the new lunar cycle as one which sparks off new positive feelings towards others, and enjoy the response as others mirror your warmth back to you.
