Stand Your Ground

Daylight is gradually increasing, especially in the afternoon; the bulbs are shooting up green leaves and flower buds, a welcome sight after all the snow.
Astrologically, as we head towards the Full Moon on the 30th January, we may need to stand firm in certain situations, as we are likely to be tested.
On Saturday 23rd the Moon enters the senses-orientated sign of Taurus, squaring the Sun and Venus in Aquarius. Both signs are fixed, meaning they don't give way easily. There could be a clash of wills, but hopefully the harmonious link between the earthy Capricorn Mercury and the Moon will enable any tension to be dissolved through clear communication.
There's a similar feel to Sunday, 24th, with feelings of impatience and aggravation being tempered by the airy Sun's compatible link to Saturn. There could be a tug between rationality, and wanting to let it all out emotionally, with no holding back. If you can get past the restless vibe, (which could manifest as a stroppy female), it's a good day to take stock, assess how you're doing, and make a mental note of your best next step.
As the Moon moves into the air sign Gemini on Monday, there should be a noticeable lifting of energy, with less tension and heaviness. The Aquarian Sun and Venus dance well with the Gemini Moon. Communications are favoured on Tuesday and Wednesday; good ideas can emerge from the woodwork.
For a couple of weeks now, Venus, now in Aquarius, has been approaching the opposition to Mars in Leo. Venus is associated with attraction, and Mars, desire. It could be that what you have and what you'd like are two different things; there's a challenge to reconcile the two. This aspect can encourage you to question what it is you really, really want and then to find ways of achieving it. There can also be a hot/cold feel to this combination, and in partnerships, one of you may feel much more passionate and warmer than the other.
With tricky aspects to a sensitive Cancer Moon on Wednesday evening (GMT), and Thursday, tread carefully in communications with others, and be aware that it will be really easy to hurt another's feelings.
On Friday 29th, the Moon enters fiery Leo, preluding the Full Moon on Saturday, 30th. The Aquarian Sun opposes Mars today, symbolizing a battle on some level. It could be on an internal level, feeling that your individual self is being challenged by others, and that you need to assess what your true desires are to yourself. It could be on an external level, when others put obstacles or challenges in your path, and you need to assert yourself strongly to keep your position
If you are firm in your beliefs, and self-confident, others will find it difficult to move you; if not, it could be a time of re-adjustment and compromise. It's a testing time, but courage, authenticity and faith will win through in the end.
