Jupiter in Pisces - Renewal of Faith
16th - 22nd January 2010
As many of us are confined at home, due to a sparkling blanket of snow, it can feel like a time of frustration. There is an inability to get things done in the normal fashion. Mercury has just turned direct (15th); I've found that until it passes the degree it was at when it turned retrograde, it's still quite sluggish. This will be on the 3rd February.
Coupled with this, Mars has been retrograde since 21st December 2009, and issues concerning assertion, anger and desire are likely to be felt more on an internal level, but there may be less opportunity to let them out. Mars begins to move forward again on March 10th, at 0 degrees Leo.
It seems the lesson here, if there is one, is to be patient with all the delays, to go with the slower pace that suits the winter season, to take time out to enjoy any bright, sunny, crisp moments outside, and to marvel at how beautiful everything looks when it's covered with snow.
See the positive side of what you have.
Jupiter takes 12 years to pass through all the signs of the zodiac. On Monday 18th, it's the turn of Pisces to receive this beneficent planet. Pisces is connected to many things, including faith, mysticism, imagination, anything connected to water, and to that which transcends the mundane. There are different opinions on whether Jupiter still 'rules' Pisces (it's still the main ruler of Sagittarius). Since the discovery of Neptune, some have made this Pisces' ruler; others (myself included) see it as co-ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. Generally, Jupiter can be seen as being at home in Pisces, and being the planet of growth and exploration, optimism and expansion will shine on Pisces' characteristics of compassion, kindness and faith in the benevolence of the universe.
The downside is that things can feel a bit 'fuzzy', and there may be a tendency to get carried away with grandiose schemes which are definitely not grounded in reality. So if you have a desire to sprinkle the world with your take on how to make life better for everyone, notice if a) people are interested, and b) do you have something practical to offer?
The Moon enters Pisces on Monday too, and conjuncts Jupiter as it enters Pisces, so it's definitely a day for seeing the best in everyone, and enjoying a lightness of spirit.
Venus, planet of love and money, moves from Capricorn into Aquarius today too. Aquarius is connected to eccentricity and humanity; expect a detached approach to be around in emotional matters, especially from Aquarians (Aquarius is an Air sign, and can find it hard to express emotions), and a realistic approach to money matters. Venus trining Saturn on Friday 22nd will also highlight the latter. True, supportive friends may appear around this time. Value them, they are worth their weight in gold.
On Wednesday 20th, the Sun enters Aquarius, and the aforementioned eccentricity, but also originality and innovation will be to the fore. The new rather than the old is favoured now, so despite Mars being retrograde in Leo (the sign opposite to Aquarius), think about ways in which you would like to move forward, and changes you'd like to instigate. Others may put up obstacles, but if you stand firm and are sure of your ground, they may back down, and you will make progress.
It's an interesting week, with the Aquarian and Pisces energies flowing in. Notice any shifts, and see how they feel for you.
